Wise Words To Live By

It is the first day of the new year, Whoohoo!!  Let’s make 2018 is going a great year. What was your new years resolutions?  I ran a cleaning business for ten years and each new year I would look back at my income and vow to double it.  Even if you didn’t tell anyone, did you write it down for yourself as goals? One of mine is to say what you mean and do what you say.  I learned many years ago that actions speak louder than words and I have always been one to talk about what I want to do but never follow through. I do consider my resolution to be wise words to live by and to me, it’s more realistic than losing 50+ lbs in 5 months or joining a social club because I know me. Do you have wise words of your own?

The reason I write this is to be as positive as I can each year to help me get over the bad times from the year before.  For many, winter is the dark time of the year to deal with our inner demons, face fears, solve conflicts and can be depressing as hell.  Spring is the time of rebirth and we come out of our shells anew.  We reap what we sow.  I have looked back and noticed so much of what I said I would do, never got done.  Holding yourself accountable is a honorable thing and will help create trust within your relationships.

Words To Live By Quotes

I thought I would put a few quotes in here. They help me through the dark times and although it is a joyous time of year, it may not be that way for everyone.   We tend to get so caught up in our own lives that we forget that the holidays are some of the worse and trying times for other people.  We can make the difference by just being compassionate and considerate.  It’s true that it may not be obvious and we should never pry into the privacy of others unless permitted to do so.  The last one is my favorite.  I have recently learned to stop trying to be someone i’m not.  I spent most of my life wanting to be like my sister, beautiful, tall, thin, nice sports cars, beautiful house and kids, supported by the husband etc.  That’s not me and I was not meant to be her.  I am independent, strong, intelligent and adaptable to my surroundings.  My success differs due to my individual choice and wise words help me focus on what important to me.  I hope this brings light to you and serves as a guide in the new year.

  1. I write quotes in my diary as wise words to live by. I like the last quote on being true to yourself. I have one of my own favourite which is ‘Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect’.

    1. It’s funny you mention your diary, I had one with the title “wise words” and wrote when I felt wise so I could look back on it. I like you quote, I’ve seen it before. Thank you for sharing.
